What is organic farming?
The so-called organic agriculture is cultivated through a traditional vegetable garden. In this method, vegetables or fruits are planted in the soil, without any chemical product being used to fertilize or to fight pests: everything is done naturally, and there is the use of the soil, which filters nutrients and impurities, leaving the food as natural as possible.

What is hydroponic agriculture?
In hydroponic agriculture, plants are grown without the use of soil, being suspended in a mixture of water with other nutrients. This means that the production process is not natural and uses chemicals for plant growth.
This type of agriculture aims to provide the ideal environment for growing a certain vegetable or fruit without necessarily being its growing season. The plants are planted and cared for in a greenhouse, receive pesticides, need fertilizers, and are more susceptible to attack by pests or diseases.
They win the consumer not because they are natural but because of their beauty and the possibility of being cultivated in smaller spaces where not a large portion of land is available.
What are the main differences between the two techniques
- Hydroponic agriculture uses water, and it is soil-less farming, as in the case of organic agriculture;
- Hydroponic agriculture requires a smaller space about organic;
- Hydroponic plants receive chemical products, while organic ones do not;
- Organic plants do not have an excess of impurities or nutrients since the soil does this filtering, whereas hydroponic plants can go through this problem;

- Organic cultivation improves the quality of life not only for the consumer but for everyone involved in the production chain. Hydroponic cultivation focuses only on the final consumer.
Hydroponic agriculture is becoming more popular and more active, representing an efficient way to grow fruits and vegetables in small spaces that do not require land use. This activity does not involve growing food directly in the ground but mineral wool.
